Site Preparation and Grading
Site Preparation and Grading in Bentonville
Every build in Benton County starts with a pad that sits at the right elevation and drains the right way. Consultoriainnova strips and stockpiles topsoil, moves the cut and fill to balance the earthwork, and shapes the ground from rough grade to finish grade against the engineer’s plan. The result is a compacted subgrade with the drainage slopes set away from the structure, ready for footings, slab, or paving.
Why Grading Is Worth Doing Right
A pad that settles or ponds water turns into cracked slabs and wet crawl spaces later. We build the subgrade to hold. Structural fill goes down in controlled lifts and gets compacted to 95 percent of maximum dry density, verified against a Standard Proctor test (ASTM D698) when the project calls for it. That density is what keeps a foundation from moving through the freeze and thaw cycles common around Bentonville.
Our Process
We place the 811 locate, then strip topsoil and set it aside for later reuse. Cut and fill is moved with a dozer and excavator, checked with laser or GPS grade control, and compacted in lifts. Finish grade is walked and confirmed for slope before we roll off. On lots near the storm system along Central Avenue, silt fence and inlet protection go in first to keep sediment out.
